Events / CX — Private Gala and Product Launch
The French luxury jewellery, watch and perfume company, Van Cleef & Arpels hosted a luxurious 180 PAX gala on the footsteps of Manly Beach, celebrating the launch of their newest thematic collection, Romeo & Juliet. This curated, 100 piece offering paid homage to the renowned English poet and playwright, William Shakespeare.
Our Mission
Teaming up with Kat & Co, we wanted to deliver a lavish event that reverberated Shakespeare’s star cross lovers and create an evening to remember.
Our Challenge
Our solution had to thematically reflect Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and create an atmosphere that highlighted the choreographed display of jewels whilst catering for 180 guests for the evening.
Crafting An Experience
Set in front of the heritage listed St Patrick's Estate and overlooking the picturesque Manly shoreline, we erected a structure that would best suit the scene, creating an atmosphere that captured the beauty of Australia whilst thematically reverberating Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
From the arched windows to the luscious greenery, we cladded the structure with a gold facade inspired from the house of Capulet. On the inside, attendees entered into a space adorned with the works of Italian Illustrator, Lorenzo Mattoti, and table settings carefully styled to the house of Capulet or the house of Montague. With custom crisp linens, gold detailed crockery, brushed gold cutlery, gold rimmed hand poured candles and flowing red and pink florals, we created the ultimate dining experience for guests as models sauntered through the room exhibiting Van Cleef and Arpels's storied collection, Romeo and Juliet.
"Love is one of Van Cleef & Arpels's founding sources of inspiration and Shakespeare's masterpiece has already influenced the maison's creation, as testified by the Romeo and Juliet brooches created in 1951. Today, the new Romeo & Juliet High Jewellery collection offers a whole new vision of the love story, through figurative but also very abstract pieces imbued with the style of the Italian Renaissance."
