Founded by a group of data professionals, Goodwill Analytics pairs up with non-governmental organisations (NGO's) to host an action packed, hackathon-style weekend once a month. Volunteers from all walks of the IT industry come together, providing data-driven insights to solve each NGO's chosen set of problems.
My Mission
To re-design the Goodwill Analytics website in order to help with the overwhelming interest and redirect the team's focus to help a set NGOs every month.
My Challenge
Connecting volunteers and NGO's together through Goodwill Analytics, keeping them updated and informed on the next event and to showcase the value behind data-driven solutions.
Information Architecture, Visual Hierarchy and Purpose
An hour workshop was held in the Atlassian office to understand the purpose behind re-designing their website as well as solidify the site's information architecture, visual hierarchy and branding. From this, we were able to justify an approach to the design and create a purpose driven platform that would connect, inform and update NGO's and volunteers of GWA's next event, share results of previous events and clearly define GWA's social cause.
Peep the design
After a few iterations, we collectively moved forward with the landing page design below. Unfortunately all other page designs were put on hold due to the busy schedule of the team.
Photos of the first event
The most rewarding part of this project is helping an organisation that is dedicated to help NGO's through data driven solutions.
The photos below are a part of GWA's 2016 workshops.
Next Steps
Unforunately in early 2017 the team at GWA had to indefintely postpone any future hackathons due to overseas relocations, resulting in the disbanding of the team. However, we hope to see them back soon in full force!
